When we set out to create Shower Story, we didn’t just want to add another product to the shelves. We wanted to transform a daily ritual into an immersive, sensory experience that lingers long after the water stops running. That commitment led us into a year and a half of rigorous R&D, where we questioned everything, from how ingredients are blended to how they are packaged.

Innovating from the Inside Out: Paper-Based Packaging with Purpose

Traditionally, reactive products like bath bombs and shower steamers are sealed in polyethylene plastic. This material clogs landfills and compromises the very scent it’s meant to protect. Aromatic compounds, volatile by nature, bond with porous plastics over time, leaching into the packaging and diminishing the product’s potency, shelf life, and intensity.

We chose to go against the grain. Instead of plastic, we looked to the earth, to origins, to what has always worked. Cellulose paper. But not just any paper. We developed a supercalendered cellulose material, a process that compresses the fibers to a glassine-like finish. This technique creates a barrier that locks in scent while elevating the tactile experience. The result is packaging that is kinder to the earth and fiercely protective of what’s inside, preserving the aromatic integrity of each tablet and ensuring that the first time you open it, the scent is as potent and layered as the day it was sealed.

Precision in Every Blend: Mastering Micro-Encapsulation

Scent is an experience that unfolds in stages, and our mission was to ensure that each stage was as intentional as the last. We didn’t want scents that dissipate in a single burst. We wanted notes that deepen and evolve, creating an aromatic arc that mirrors the ebb and flow of memory.

To achieve this, we leaned into micro-encapsulation technology. This method allows us to enrobe reactive ingredients in microscopic shells, preventing premature scent release and ensuring that the aromatic compounds activate only when exposed to steam. Each tablet becomes a controlled release, with layers of scent that emerge in waves, transforming the shower into a symphony of evolving notes.

Designing for Purpose: Packaging as Ritual

Every aspect of our packaging was designed from scratch, with intention and care. The 10-pack of signature sets was engineered to dispense each tablet effortlessly, a nod to the everyday ritual of reaching for what grounds you. It is packaging that speaks of ease and quiet luxury, products that respect the space they inhabit.

Our gift sets were crafted to be tactile experiences. The weight is substantial, the finish smooth and deliberate, inviting the recipient to slow down and savor the moment of opening. Rushing production compromises quality. We knew this from the start, so we looked to the traditions of aromatherapy and fragrance houses, where patience is paramount. Each of our blends undergoes a 90-day maceration, sealed in darkness to allow the oils to settle, meld, and mature.

Humidity is tightly controlled, every batch monitored for consistency, ensuring that the final product is as rich and nuanced as it was intended to be. This extended resting period deepens the aromatic profile, allowing each note to stand on its own while harmonizing with the others. The result is a scent that is richer, deeper, more refined — a balance that only time can achieve.
